Spotlight On: Revivals

…arguably, the biggest insult to our generation.

The following throught process: “why not take a film that totally rocked, and make a straight to DVD out of it?”, really shouldn’t have ever happened, but since it did, here I am confirming, I want no part of the era and in my biography, you may include, ”the generation she did live through is irrelevant; however, let it be known, she certainly did not live through, or have anything to do with, this one.” and the amount of people who all have had that throught of taking part in a revival, even for a second, should also go straight to DVD. The direct comparison inherent in the two films leaves the rest of us with the inevitable next thought, “why, god, why?”.

The grossest example of this, in my opinion (although I only thought about this long enough for this Tumblr page to load), is The Heartbreak Kid. Perhaps that’s because of this:

   Vs.

or perhaps this:

The 1972 original was adapted from a Bruce Jay Friedman story by Neil Simon (though it’s not typical of his usual polished style), the movie wears its Jewishness on its sleeve: when Cybill Shepherd appears as the other woman, few viewers won’t be thinking to themselves, “Shiksa!”  —-M. Faust (amc Movie Blog)

Eitherway, the obvious reaction to the remake starring Ben Stiller and that other girl (shiksa) is, indeed!, “why, god, why.” no question.

I really think I soldified any question to not typecast me as a human with this one.

Do I even really need to confirm,
